How FileLocker handles your data — and why there isn't much to say.
FileLocker is a desktop application designed to process protected files locally on your device. The application does not require uploading your files to a FileLocker cloud service as part of the normal locking and unlocking workflow.
The FileLocker website may collect limited information that you voluntarily provide, such as your email address when requesting access or contacting support.
The FileLocker website may use analytics services to understand how visitors use the site. Depending on the service, this may include information such as page views, referring pages, browser/device information, and approximate location.
If you submit an access request or contact FileLocker support, we use your email address to respond to your request, provide information about your access, and communicate with you about the service.
We do not sell your email address. You can contact us at support@filelocker.online if you have questions about how your information is used.
If you purchase or activate FileLocker, we may process information necessary to provide and manage your license, such as your email address, license information, purchase information, and activation status. The FileLocker application may also process technical information necessary to associate a license with an authorized installation.
As part of the normal locking workflow, FileLocker does not require file contents, encryption passwords, or document metadata to be uploaded to a FileLocker cloud service.
The locking process does not require an internet connection. Locked files are saved to locations selected by the user, such as local drives, folders, or connected storage devices.
The recipient unlocks the protected file locally in a supported browser. The browser uses the Web Crypto API to perform the decryption locally. The protected file and password do not need to be uploaded to a FileLocker cloud service during the unlock process.
The filelocker.online website may use third-party services (such as payment processors, email delivery services, or analytics providers) to facilitate our business operations. These third parties process information only as required to provide their specific services.
We retain information submitted through the website for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, manage access, provide support, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes.
We take reasonable measures to protect information we process through the website and services. FileLocker is designed so that protected file contents and encryption passwords do not need to be uploaded to a FileLocker cloud service as part of the normal locking and unlocking workflow.
No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information processed through the website or services.
Depending on where you are located, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain uses of your information. To make a privacy-related request, contact support@filelocker.online.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The most recent version will always be published at filelocker.online/privacy.
